Cape Town - Former Springbok forward Klippies Kritzinger has passed away at the age of 67.

He was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome earlier this month, but lost his battle on Thursday.

Kritzinger, who featured at lock and flank, played seven Tests for the Springboks between 1974 and 1976.

At provincial level, he played for Transvaal and Free State and was part of the Free State team that won the Currie Cup for the first time in 1976.
