H. FORREST : 1931 United Tobacco Cigarette Card

FORREST's career as a first-class Rugby player has been particularly rapid and brilliant. Educated at King Edward VII School, Johannesburg, he played only Soccer, and later was a member of an East Rand second league team. In 1929 he went to the Witwatersrand University, where he was immediately put in the scrum. His astonishing success is evidenced in his selection for South Africa only two years after his first game of Rugby. The Universities tour of Kenya did much to develop his play.

His first year at University saw him playing in the third team, but at the end of that season he had been promoted to the first fifteen and was chosen for the Transvaal. Since then he has seldom missed a representative match. 23 years of age, Forrest is still a student at the Rand University. He is 6 feet in height and weighs 203 lbs.
